About Me
My Background
My career as a trainer started after competing in a Mix Martial Arts match in 2012. I began training individuals in self-defence and helping them achieve their fitness goals. A few years later, I established a group training facility called Primal Performance Ltd with a business partner. For five years, I was the co-owner and operator of Primal Performance Ltd. During this time, I trained a large variety of individuals, including athletic individuals wishing to improve sporting performance, clients into their 80s wanting to improve mobility and quality of life, plus size individuals wishing to focus on weight loss and overall fitness.
During this same period, I also completed studies for a Bachelor in Sport and Exercise and a Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science.
In 2020, I opened a private fitness studio from my home in Wallacetown to be closer to my family. From here, I have been able to work on a family/work-life balance through small group classes and personal training sessions while being close to my young family. In 2022, I entered my first Bodybuilding competition; the goal was only to improve my ability to coach clients interested in the sport. After winning my division and overalls, I developed a passion for the sport. In 2023, I continued competing in bodybuilding and won my division and overalls in two regional events, my division at the national competition. Then I received an invitation to join the New Zealand team NABBA sent to Germany to compete in the Ms & Mr Universe competition.
During 2023, I also furthered my academic knowledge by completing the postgraduate certificate in health sciences endorsed in human nutrition.
Through my experience, I have learned the importance of preserving joint health and preventing issues before they arise and the importance of developing systems of training that enable me to help individuals achieve maximum muscle growth while maintaining a healthy body.
